SOUTH KOREA!

So we went to the airport and got there about an hour and a half before we had to arrive.  So you would think that would be plenty of time... if you thought that, you don't know me, Katie and Daryle.  We are HORRIBLE.  There is a SHOPPING mall inside of airport, a REALLY GOOD ONE.  So I started to shop before I even left the country and then we stopped to eat some food.  We checked the time and we had a half hour to get to our terminal so we decided to go, right before we went into the terminal we saw a Starbucks and stopped really quick to get some, I didn't cause I get a little nervous about flying so no caffeine for me.  We get through the entrance to the terminal and what we didn't know is that there is NOW customs before you even leave the airport.  We were like SHIT.  Cause now there was 20 min before the flight was going to leave.  We luckily get to go into the visa line and went in and found out we needed to fill out another form , now I am getting super anxious and starting to get really quiet.  So Katie and Daryle were trying to calm me down cause they know if I am not talking something is wrong.  So we got through the customs with 10min.  Our gate was supposed to be right there, but of course it wasn't it was about a half mile away so I just started to sprint and so did Daryle, I was doing good, and then Daryle and I reached the gate and we realized we needed to go down stairs with my fake louie I was like AHHHH.  Then we did it and noticed that Katie wasn't with us and I was yelling KATIE WE'RE DOWN HERE and then they put us through, and Katie got on with about 2 min to spare, we got there about 3 min before her.  I was freaking out.  So we got in dropped our bags and actually had a great flight.  We had so much fun.  It was my favorite flight because we were laughing the whole time.  My not understanding a game provided a lot of the laughter.

Then we arrived to Seoul got a taxi and went to the city.  We couldn't find our hostel and drove around for an extra 30 min.  Then we left the cab and tried to find it ourselves, and of course it started to rain.  Then we got to the hostel.... SHIT HOLE is the only way to describe it.  I wanted to cry.  We also had some little friends, I thought I was going to be sick.  All of us were grossed out and started to walk around in the rain to find some place else to sleep, at this point it is 1 am.  We stopped by a convenient store and got water to keep walking around and we heard a woman screaming.  We walked out and we saw this girl getting beat by her boyfriend, so I started to get upset.  Daryle and Katie made me walk quickly.  We walked for about 5 minutes when we saw another couple fighting and the guy started beating the girl again and I was starting to freak the HELL out.  finally we got a taxi and found a holiday Inn and stayed there.  We ended up staying there for 5 night,,, it was beautiful, used to be a five star that holiday inn bought out so it was NICEE.  It was 180 a night divided by 3 people so noot bad.

Went back to the hostel in the morning to pick up our bags and then we found our friend nick.  We told the manager we were off to Pusan so bye.  Went to the holiday Inn... the rest of the trip was going to palaces, shopping, EATING and just having fun.

We went to this great tea shop that was amazing you guys would have loved the decor.  Let me see...

We went to the Korea war museum which was pretty sad.  Near the end my black rhinestone sandals broke.  So I was hopping around the museum on one foot and then walked with only one shoe on for a while.  I was not a happy camper.  Then I ended up buying 20 look a like pumas which i didn't want, but what are you going to do right?

Went to the DMZ... had a military escort whose name is Husky who was from Oklahoma so I called him Oklahoma.  He was really really nice.  We got to see the DMZ and the tension there is crazy.  They said not to smile because we could see North Korean soldiers taking pictures of us.  The guards were saying it was for their anti-American propaganda.  Hopefully I didn't do anything stupid.  It was really tense.  I met a REALLY cute boy who is 24 there.  He was visiting his friend.  He is from California and before we could talk more we got separated.  SO SAD. .. his name was Matt, sadness I would have liked to talk to him more... oh yeah he had an AMAZING body.

Korean Folk Village- you are able to see folk dances and just the Korean way of life.  It was so interesting.  I would totally recommend going there.

So overall it was a crazy and fun trip, at night we went to the gay bars (my friends birthday was during S. Korea and he is gay so we went out there)  Gay guys are soooo nice and funny, plus they gave me free shots and a Krispy Kreme so it was good times.

Korean people are not my favorite on the manners side.  This guy wanted to get off the train and I would have moved if I could have but the train was soo packed no one could move and he started hitting me with a newspaper.  I was about to punch him.  So the rudeness is Kinda weird because Japan is the land of the most courteous people I have EVER met in my life.

OVERALL LOVED THE TRIP.  I am going back to see Pusan and this certain Island later on in the year.

See you all later..

Let me see what has been going on in the last couple of days.  Monday the power was being tested so I got to come home from school at 10 am.  That was quite nice.  Yesterday I went to this HUGE festival.  It was celebrating your dead loved ones.  The familys wrote their names on the lanterns and then they let it float into the water, so the whole lake was full of the lighted lanterns, it was amazing.  Then they had this great fireworks show.  I was quite impressed.  Today is just a getting things done day.

I am looking for tickets to S. Korea.  My friends and I have decided that we will probably take the tour of the DMZ.  Which I am nervous/ super excited about.

Hey people I have been in Japan for a week today.  It was a crazy trip here.  I did not like the plane ride at all.  It was shaky and only served rice so I was starving.  Once we landed another world began.  It is so beautiful here.  I love how nice everyone is.  I was in Tokyo for a couple of days.  The bright lights reminds you of Vegas and the way the new and old arcitechture mix reminds me of Athens.  It is really cool.  So all of you should visit me damnit.

So after a couple of days in Tokyo which were fun and great.  I will put some pictures up later.  I came to Ibaraki (state) my town is Toride, and my high school fujishiro high school.  The first day I arrived at school I was taken to get my gaigen card (foriengers card) which is supposed to take 2 weeks to process.  I then went to our high schools baseball game at like 10 am.  We went to Mito our state capital because our team was up for the state championships.  I cannot even begin to describe how crazy it is here about baseball.  I fell in love with my school then.  They have cheerleaders and the jaij tai (volleyball team during season) who are screaming and dancing.  Now in america we have like one cheer, here EACH player has a cheer and a song, and the cheerleaders and jaij tai girls dance the WHOLE inning.  They do not sit down.  It was awesome.  We came from behind and won the game.  It was just amazing.  Then we went back to our school and there was a school assembly.  We were going to nationals at Kochien.  Which if you do not know is a HUGE deal here.

Then I got home and was starting to unpack when guess what i see crawling from under my suitcase a freaking cockroach!  SO i started to panic and started to cry and called my new friend Damien.  I was basically having a bloody heart attack.  He told me NOT to get the tatami mats wet but to douse the critter with dishwashing liquid.  So then a just the killing spray which was not fast enough to kill it and found out that they bloody well FLY.  So I just chased it out my tatami room and killed it.  Unfortunatly stepping on them is out of the question.  If you kill a pregnant mother you are screwed beyond belief.  With this comforting thought I slept uneasily my second night in Japan.

SO now it is friday night and I decide to unpack, but it is too hot to do anything so I just sleep and watch sex and the city.  Saturday night me, Katie, Lucien, Nick, and Emer went for Damiens going away party.  I was so sad.  We drank from 7-2 and then Karokied till 5.  Karoke is HUGE here.  I stopped drinking early, on the account I hate having headaches.  Then Nick and Katie slept over.  The next morning we woke up at around 1 in the afternoon and went to Saierziya which is their Italian place for lunch.  it is not bad Italian food considering the fact that I am in Japan.

The next week was spent with me running around getting bank accounts open, grocery shopping, filling out the proper paper work for my car.  Then that weekend we went to Mito for a festival on Saturday.  It was beautiful, a bunch of JETs were in the festival.  Which they said after hour 2 sucked.  So i enjoyed to watching and shopping.  SO i found out two things, I have HUGE feet in Japan, so shoes are not happening, but I actually fit the clothes (I have lost about 5-8 pounds since I got here) so I am figuring I will fit most of the clothes by christmas, look out credit cards.  I have bought two tang tops a work shirt and a cool jacket.  I am in trouble.  Then Katie and Daryle slept over and we talked till 2 am good times.

That Sunday we left for Kochien which was great.  It is a 13 hour bus right cause we have to go all the way to the west coast.  We stopped at Kyoto for a couple hours in the morning.  The word WOW is all I can say, I MUST go back there.  We went to Kochien and it was nail biting.  We had not scored anything until the 8th inning, where we tied the score.  2-2.  We then played till the 12th inning where we won!  So we made it through the first roung of nationals, it was crazy.  We were screaming and crying and hugging.  Then it was time to get back on the bus, so then we went for a bunch more hours got home on Tuesday got my cell phone Tuesday I have to double check if I can receive interanaitonal calls, if not, I will be getting a new one cause I asked that question when I bought it.  The rest of the week I planned lessons and thursday went to dinner with Loosh, Daryle, and Katie.  Then Friday night left for Kochien again.  This time we played the team ranked 1 in the nation and lost.  It was depressing.  Yet I bonded with my teachers at dinner.  The male teachers look at me like I am there kid, cause most of them are my dads age.  So they are beyond nice a sweet.  The female teachers look to me as a friend, so it is great there.  I am now called a sweet-heart.  They noticed how much I like chocolate and dont even like beer because it is not sweet.  So they now call me sweet-heart.  Alright that is enough for now miss you all.
